Could my pump handle this?

Hey guys, I have an xspc 750 pump that came with my rasa kit, and I was wondering, would it be able to handle all this?

Xspc rasa
Xspc razor gtx 580
3 x Xspc rs 240 radiators
Heatkiller asus p8p67 motherboard waterblocks

...Or would I need to buy a second pump? Also, if I did need to buy another pump, would you guys recommend a dual loop and if so, what would you guys put on each loop?

I thought it might be cool in the future to go with a fully water cooled rig, so this is all just theoretically speaking, no set plans yet.

Not really, the mobo block will kill it. Even without it would struggle.

I would stick with a single loop. Main reason being that if you are doing a CPU or GPU intensive task (like folding on GPU only) you will have the full cooling potential available. If both are properly balanced, dual loops only really give you a few °C advantage over single loops, and even then that is when you are running at your full TDP (CPU + GPU). It is also cheaper and easier to do a single loop.

Couple of choices:

1. Get a small pump to help out, something like a Jingway 1200 (DD CPX-Pro, EK DCP 4.0) would be good. Put it in series (obviously) and you would be good to go.

2. Ditch the 750 and get a bigger single pump. A MCP355 with custom top or a MCP35x is your friend here. You can even get a dual bay res which can hold the 355 / 35x.

Im in the same boat as you behemoth. I got 2 new ek full cover blocks for my 570's so Im in the market for a new pump. I was going to buy a 355 with xspc res top, but I had financial problems. Once I get my funds situated I might end up getting a 35x. 35x looks like it would be perfect for what I need.


Honestly though, I think waterblocks for your chipset is kind of like water cooling ram, it isnt really necessary. Infact the heatsinks asus puts on there p67 boards are overkill. It does look nice to see shiny water blocks on the chipset though, I will say that.

with that being said, If you could limit your loop to 2 rads and 2 blocks, I think that pump could handle it. I think 2 rs240's would be more than enough for a cpu and gpu. Sandy bridge really does not put off that much heat.

Hmm, good point. But the heatsinks aren't entirely overkill, the heatsinks on my board get pretty darn hot when at full load, but I think my internally exhausting gpu contributes to that.

I think I will just go for the cpu + gpu blocks then. I've used this pump with a loop just like it before, so I think it will be okay. The cpu block I used had slightly better flow(ek supreme hf), but it should still be okay I would think.

AliceInChains made a good point MB/RAM blocks are waist of your money and will cause a lot of grief, purely for esthetics's ,you may want one if you going for some world record OC's other than that forget about it,instead of getting MB block upgrade your pump

Just remember that mobo chipset and VRM heatsinks still need airflow even if the other stuff is under water

You might consider some parallel options, maybe the GPU and MB blocks in parallel would drop restriction enough to work ok. You really don't need much cooling on the MB block, and they are generally very restrictive.

While not talked about much, parallel on the non essential stuff can help a lot in keeping restriction down to single or smaller pumps.
