We must be getting close.

Now we just have to wait to see these in stores. I can't believe that it's taken them since CES to bring this thing out.

Didn't seem to get very good reviews. I'd like to see a closer look at the fans. They are supposed to be 9dba according to fractals website, but are said to be loud.

Really? I thought the review was pretty darn favorable. They stated that the fans were very quiet unless maxed out:

Quote:
The three fans are actually very quiet when turned down, but do generate a clean but fairly noticeable sound stage when turned up all the way. That said, I do not see a reason to crank them all the way anyways. For those who are too lazy to adjust these they can connect the units to the mainboard. Doing so should also result in a quiet system as the mainboard would rarely run them at full throttle when temperature based speed fan control is enabled.
I also noticed that the review gave them grief for providing just an internal USB 3.0 connection to the MB...which I find amazing since every review that I have read for cases that only support external jump-style connections slam the manufacturers for that config. There is no pleasing some folks.

Regardless, I'm sold.

cheers,
Scuba

I believe it includes three of these:

http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/pro...ans/fd-fan-140

...but the Arc Midi product page states that they can run up to 1000 rpm...so perhaps 600 rpm is the sweet spot. Temps will dictate of course...but frankly, with all the mesh on this case (and lack of acoustic dampening material), I always expected it to be louder than the Define series. Probably not a huge deal for me. I'll be taking out that top drive cage, installing only two HDs, and a single graphics card...and may drop another 140mm in the front. I'd like to run them all at fairly low RPM.

Either way, it has got to be better than what is sitting next to me.

Hmmm...the Fractal product page for the fan states 800 rpm (instead of 600):

http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=...gory=4&prod=19

Both sources state 9dB at ~39 CFM.

MNPCTECH also posted a video review on youtube. I really can't wait to get my hands on one. I love my Define R3 but I love the Arc Midi even more.

Oh ok, so they can go up to 1000 rpm but at 600 they are only 9dba. I wonder what the dba is at 1000rpm
