Gigabyte RMA

Thread Starter
I recently just filed an RMA request for a Radeon 5830 made by Gigabyte that has been having random BSOD's and constant artifacts.

Any idea how long it will take?

I've never RMA'd a piece of hardware before because I've never had something die in all honesty.

It takes about 2-3 weeks total time.. You will get an approval form, then you ship it to them, they test it and either fix it or replace it and ship back about a week later...

Looking at my mail I got my RMA approval on 12/13 and got the return shipping email on 12/28

Hi Jync. Return times can differ too depending who the manufacturer is. Contact them and ask them, Im sure they will give you an answer.

I had a very similar experience with gigabyte. No trouble at all really. Paying your own shipping is the only downside, but that's universal.

Good luck with Gigabyte. They make good gear but when it breaks u r f*cked. At least I was when my EP43-UD3L broke and needed to be RMA'ed. I sent it in, took weeks only to get back a refurbished pos that wouldn't overclock 1 mhz without going into bootloop. I have alot of xp with this board. I traded my friend his EP43 (cause he didn't give a ***** about OC'ing) and it worked with no problems (right back to 1 ghz OC) That experience severely turned me off. I hope your RMA is less....Troublesome.

I had to RMA a Gigabyte 5850 not so long ago and it was about as painless an RMA experience as you could wish for. Filled out their RMA request forms they email to you, sent off the broken card and got a brand new card back and all within 3 weeks.
