First timer overclock Finally got it stable

Iam bit concern about the temps because it is my time overclocking.
are they high or just average? and is it worth it to push it to 4.8 or 5.0ghz?

Your image isn't showing up, but Below 70C is fine for 24/7 operation, 80C if you are brave and can afford to replace it. 90C for a once in awhile run just to say you hit 5.0 on air

On that cooler I seriously doubt you're having temp problems, unless you don't have it mounted properly.

Unless your e-peen feels threatened, I think 4.5-4.6 is more than sufficient.

Yeah, you're good. You definitely have room for a bit more overclock, but you won't see all that much real world improvement unless you're folding or playing FSX...

But this is OCN and let's be honest, why'd you spend $70ish on a heat sink if you weren't going to overclock like a mofo?

I DO want to push it like a mofo but I am just concern about the lifespan and trying to play safe since it is my first time

If you want to play it safe, just set yourself a pre-determined limit in terms of voltages and/or temps rather than going for a final clock speed. With SB still being pretty new, there isn't enough data to definitively say whether certain clocks/temps/voltages are guaranteed to speed degradation or not.

I fold 24/7, so I would rather sacrifice a few hundred mhz in favor of a slightly longer living processor since it is under full load all the time. You can decide for yourself where your comfort zone is based on your usage habits

I feels mang, I feels.

When I got my 2500k first I saw how fast the chip would go, taking voltage to 1.5 and temps up to around 85... Got just under 5.1ghz stable out of it. Then I figured out a much more reasonable 1.4V and 70C overclock (under intel burn test, I never see those temps even when I'm folding)
