You all are being ignorant.

Now if you were pointing out the disparity between what Apple advertises and the truth, you might have a point...
They will proceed to ask you to Install Security Essentials, and run a scan not deny nor confirm that you have a virus and act oblivious to the fact your infected.

Oh look, people with ruffled sweater vests..

Look. The apple repair center simply doesn't do malware. They MAY do it though, one day. If they do not have a set of guidelines for diagnosing/finding malware then that could lead them into the trouble of not being able to remove a certain new malware, which is not something a repair center wants to deal with.

This is a matter of policy and liability.

Non issue for people with even the slightest bit of computer knowledge. It's also incredibly easy to remove.
this are apple users, who are, for the most part, nearly completely technologically illiterate.

NOTE: that is not an attack at any member on this forum. all apple users who visit this forum are obviously exceptions to that rule. however, the average apple user honestly does not know anything about how a computer works, nor how to fix one. if you read the article, one apple user gave the program 5 credit card numbers. thats just pure ignorance

My sister is an idiot. See constantly installs viruses and malware. She recently bought a mac book. I asked her why she spent extra money on mac vs pc.

Guess what her response was?

Macs

don't

get

viruses.

They sure dont.

Well for the most part they don't. They can get malware, but viruses are much harder to come by. Also, the volume of mac to windows malware/virus infection rates (even in percentages) is much lower. Accredit this to obscurity, but facts are facts.

The fact is when a mac gets malware,it can't be removed. Have fun losing everything to a reformat.

But that's what most people end up doing with windows anyway.

Again don't attack the software, attack the evil empire known as Apple and it's lord God Jobs. Eventually I hope to see him pay for the utter contempt of consumers (whether it's earned or not).
