Hmmmm, sounds good for people still using dual cores with no need to go quad!

Westmere based Core i3 (last year Core i3) sold extremely well because if its performance and really low price. Intel could have a winner with a K series Core i3.

Hope this is true! I will have to bench one of these!

No hyper-threading like the i3-2120 and it should have the HD 3000 graphics like the rest of the K processors (not like it matters that much but it's just a pattern). If it is real though, I think it should also overclock past 4GHz and would be a great budget gaming CPU
A dual-core with the HD Graphics 3000 actually DOES matter. It would be a great balance of enough CPU and GPU performance.

Intel was stupid (plain and simple) in including the higher-end IGP only for CPUs that would most likely have a discrete GPU anyways.
Once again...

If I'm not mistaken, isn't Westmere code name for their 6-core chips, along with Gulftown. The first generation desktop Core i3 chips had the codename Clarkdale.

So true, Duckie.

They need a Sandy Bridge i3 with HD Graphics 3000 before they need an unlocked-multiplier i3. Cheap i3 + HD Graphics 3000 would be pure win for budget or office systems.

No Turbo boost? How to oc this thing? Does it have limited bclk frequency like other second gen processors?

.
Clarkdale and Gulftown are code names. Westmere is the name given to all Nehalem based cpus that are shrunk to 32nm.

I don't think you can OC this on an H61/67 chipset. Only P67/Z68, which can take advantage of this CPU's unlocked feature. (Although, if a person has a P67/Z68 board, I don't really see why they'd get a dual-core processor in this day and age.)

Not unless you live near a Microcenter, which most people don't:
