Thanks for everyone's input. Does portrait take up less space that landscape will? I unfortunately have a small desk for this year (stupid desk in the apartment -.-), so if landscape takes up a lot more room, I may have to go portrait.

@wily2143 I have 2 5870's in CF, one from XFX and one from Sapphire. I've never dealt with Eyefinity before, but im pretty sure the 6950 can run either of those resolutions.

3x 23" will be roughly equal to a 40" 16:9 TV.

Landscape will tkae up much more space horizontally.

3X portrait is great for gaming. I ended up sticking to landscape though since most things on the desktop do landscape better (except web browsing) and switching between the two is a pita to line everything up.
