So have any of you tested the auto OC feature P8P67 mobos ?

Thread Starter
I know most of you prefer manually changing the settings yourself. I just put my pc together and was looking at the bios and saw that so I tried it and it OC'ed my ram a little and OC'ed my 2500K to 4.3Gz. Have any of you tried or heard someone testing this feature to see if it's a solid OC in general ? & is there any cons in using this method to OC the cpu ?

I have a little side question. My ram speed is defaulted to 1333 speed but it's 1600 rated. I wanted to know if it's normal that the ram was defaulted at 1333 and not at 1600. Is it just because of my ram or is that any ram it would of done this too ?

The Auto-OC works fine for the people that use it. Since this is generally an enthusiasts forum however, you will find a lot of people will lobby against it, and instead offer ways in helping you manually set the OC. Some people feel that the Auto-OC feature is applying too much vCore voltage for a "modest" OC.

Regarding your RAM, it will default to 1333. With Auto-OC enabled, it should set it to the proper speed. Check CPU-Z to confirm. You may have to set it manually in BIOS, and enable the XMP profile if it is capable.

The auto OC took my chip to 5.2 ghz, then realized it was pumping 1.63 v to it... So watch out for the vcore.
