Fan too loud when touching chassis

So I've got two Cooler Master SickleFlow R4s which I'm really happy with. They push a great deal of air and are pretty quiet, that is, until they touch the case. Mounted to the heat sink they're fine but as soon as they touch that case they become super noisy buggers.

Any ways to remedy this? I've tried rubber fan screws pulled from an old G5s's fans. Admittedly they aren't as snug as they probably should be but is there anything else I can try to quiet these guys down so they aren't so loud when mounted to the case?

standard fan screws with rubber washers.

or a rubber vibration absorber, like this.

what ive used, are little rubber washers (you can find them at the hardware store in the faucet repair section).

these to be exact:

they work pretty good imo.

awesome. wasn't sure if those would work or not since the rubber fan screws didn't do much but i'll give these a try.

thanks guys

No.

Both of those fail because the fan is still connected to the case through the fan screws and screw holes. What you need is to have the fan completely decoupled from the chassis with something really soft.

Note that there are various shapes for various applications such as closed corner fans, holding a fan grill, etc. Also, other places carry them too. I just linked there because it was convenient.

double sided tape between fan and chassis, but only stick it to the fan?

I'll have to second this. My case has two 120mm fans in the back for exhaust and using those silicone fan mounts they are dead silent!

Yea. That actually looks more like what i need. Looks like the actual solution to keep it from touching the case entirely.
