My First Overclock!

Thread Starter
Hey guys whats up,
I just made an account here after doing tons of research nearly a year after getting my gaming rig. I really wanted to see what I could push it to so here are some results of my first time attempting an overclock. I have a question about the temperatures of my CPU... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...erclocked.png/

They seem really really low and arent moving, could this be a problem with my CPUID program itself? By the way Prime95 is running the background.
Thanks in advance, just looking for some advice or tips on how to get to the 4.0

use core temp for 'live' monitoring of the temps of the cpu as well its a good software as it shows the temps in the right side of the taskbar
OC as much as you can on stock voltages and test for 30 mins using OCCT to give u an idea if its stable if it isnt then only bump up the vcore little by little

Dude, your voltage is way too high. Most people can run 3.5ghz around 1.3v, so back it down right now. Max safe is 1.55v on air.

Also look at the TMPIN0 instead, as your sensors seem to be screwed.

Also back your HT-link speed to 2000, as anything over it can cause instability.

Not exactly sure which voltage option that I'm supposed set to 1.3, since I am pretty new to this. Does anybody know what the bios looks like in a ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO?

it should be where you change the FSB should be called Vcore or cpu voltage
check this out to learn more about your bios

Yeah, if it crashes after you've set it, or does so in Prime95, just bump it to like 1.313v. Have you disabled Turbo core in bios?

I disabled the option that I thought had something to do with CPU boost, Ive been testing around to make sure my speed doesnt randomly jump to the 3.2 it supposedly does on "boost mode"
Thanks for that video I set it to 1.37 heres a new screenie

Great, it's always best to disable the Turbo Core, because it can pump some hefty great big volts onto your CPU just for some tiny turbo clocks which sounds lame I know....

I would give this a shot and see if it's stable

FSB 300
CPU around 4050MHz @ 1.44V
Northbridge 3000MHz @ CPU-NB 1.37V
DRAM @ 1.65-1.7V
HT Speed 2100MHz

NB @ 1.2-1.25V
HT @ 1.22V

Disabled Turbo Core

Try it with Cool n Queit enabled and C1E

I hope this helps it works for me
