From the what i am seeing, the H60/H70 is cooling = Sythe Mugen II cooling. If I'm gonna pay over twice as much, it better work twice as good.

Does anyone know of a CPU cooler that offers more bang for your buck than the Mugen II?
This one offers great cooling and is a new model as well.

Most of the coolers in that list near the top are fine too. It's more of a preference of what you want.

RAID-5 is similar to SSD's in terms of speed during reads and writes, however their latency sucks, and that's mostly what makes the SSD fast, it quickly finds what you need.

If you are going to play multiplayer games I definitely have to recommend also purchasing some powerline adapters. Similar to having wireless but it takes up a wall socket. However it is fast as wired.

Thanks everyone!

eternal7trance - good idea, i'll consider that!

doodlebro - Thanks. I have added a 60 GB OCZ Vertex 2 to my newegg wish list for this build.

darkraid - I'm a Engineer. I can do math and science all day long. I can not spell to save my life. Sorry. *hugs*

munaim1 - Looked up Noctua, and they look really ugly. Do they all come with that pale pink fan thing? Also, what company makes the "silver arrow"?

ejams - Thanks for the idea, but if i need to move a large file i'll just use eSATA/USB 3.0/Gigabit Ethernet.

Edit - eternal7trance, this review http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...1&limitstart=6 tells me the sythe mugen II is better than the XIGMATEK Aegir.

you really shouldn't use that old graphics card as a physx card.. it'll slow down your gameplay, the 570 is more than powerful enough to do the physx rendering as well..

lol at the ugly fan colour, however, it is one of the best fans around in terms of cfm/db. The silver arrow is by Termalright. Both are very good. Get whichever is cheaper.
Have you decided on a graphics card yet?

EDIT: by the way, if your main uses are gaming then just get a 4gb ddr3 kit. timings don't matter that much in sandybrigde. I would recommend the Gskill RipjawsX 1600mhz CL9 1.5v

+1 on the noctua nh-d14.

Best cooler around; pricey but u get what u pay for.

For a 2k budget i'd go for the vertex 3 and hook it to a usb 3.0 port.
Intel ssd's are another good option.
the g3 series is their best yet.

Rest of the build looks solid. Good luck

trojan92 - Please explain how a second card would make it run slower?

munaim1 - I really want to stick with the 8 Gb of ram. I really love to multitask. I have 4 Gb on my current setup, and sometimes when i have alot of things running I'll use up 80% of my RAM. I am sticking with the GTX 570. The 580 costs 40% more and is 5% faster. The GTX 570 i picked out does not use the reference VRM, and therefore I will not have to worry about it blowing up.

umgill45 - I have convinced my self to get a SSD. After the vertex 3's came out, the vertex 2's became cheap. I want to go with a vertex 2. I don't want to go crazy with spending money on a SSD.

I've basically got the same build as the one you're going for, and you'll be able to get everything in for $2k... I don't have a BluRay burner/drive but including my case and 3 monitors, I probably spent $2700 (add in CA sales tax).

Noctua fans really aren't that ugly. They're "designed in Austria" so they have this weird 1970's tan and brown European color scheme, but they've definitely grown on me.

Just start looking for good deals on the things that aren't going to get upgraded soon -- the SATAII SSD, case, cpu cooler, P67 mobo, psu etc. And then see what prices are like on the 2500k in a couple of months -- I'm fairly confident it'll drop below $200 after Bulldozer and newer SB's chips come out.

I'm probably not gonna put this together for another two months. I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled. I really want a Z68 motherboard with 10 SATA ports. Still not sold of the Noctua fans, the colors make me want to cut my eyes out with a rusty fork.
