Is 3.5GHz the max OC I could reach in theory?
You could push higher than 3.5GHz if you want, and that if you don't care about tempatures too

And it's not that outdated just yet, the only problem with the Phenom II's are there IMC's, there just not as good as Intel's IMC, until Bulldozer comes out to change everything

Get the Crosshair, and upgrade the CPU on the mobo in the future or something

Fair enough, but using say a silver arrow I'm sure the temps wouldn't be too bad?

Could you explain what IMC means, because I have no clue
And I can see you are amped for bulldozer

Could you give me a model no.
I have a feeling that the price of the board will probably destroy my whole (measly) student budget lol

The tempatures shoulden't be that bad then

The IMC is the Integrated Memory Controler inside the CPU, when you overclock the Northbridge in the BIOS, your acually overclocking the IMC on the CPU which dramastically boosts memory bandwith comunication between the RAM and the CPU So it will make your Applications feel alot more snappier and it should give you about 20-80+ more FPS than what you get in games right now.

And I'm not sure what country you are in, but here is a link of what the board is in my country

And heres a review of the motherboard:

xD No problem, it's what being at OCN is best for

I think it's good at it's price, I got mine last month and it was about £155 lol, so it's come down like £10 cheaper which is not too bad.

P.S, I would try to get 1600MHz RAM or faster if possible, it will help with overclocks and for Bulldozer too if your going to upgrade in the future

However much of an AMD fanboy you are, you can't deny the fact that with a hyper 212+ or same level cooler, Intel SB chips clock to 4.6-4.8 ghz. The same setup with an AMD 1090t will only reach 4 ghz.

I also like AMD better for budget purposes, but you can't honestly say that they clock higher than Intel. Hopefully Bulldozer is a game changer. This last month is killing me.

AMD 1055T Can clock from 2.8 straight to 4.2 with open arms, about a 48% CPU Overclock

Intel fanboys need to get there facts straight. Don't start a flame war please

I'm not starting a flame war, you did by saying AMD Always overclock better.
I just pointed out that intel is also a good overclocker.

Here is the flame :
An overclocked AMD can barely reach a stock intel
(speaking of same amount of cores)
We are talking pure overclocking, not performance per clock. There's a difference.
