Really need help - pc to tv

Thread Starter
hi guys, tryed hdmi yesterday to connect my pc to my tv, didnt work so i went out and bought a new VGA cable so the guy suggested i also buy a 3.5 stereo jack lead which i did.

VGA works fine no probs got it running right now, but i cant get the audio to work and its caused problems now.

i plugged it into the back of the tv were it says "audio" beside the VGA connection and took out my speakers and plugged it into my PC.

the tv wouldnt play any music of youtube but will play itunes and the speaker test but it comes out all fuzzy and echoey kind of. i thought hmm something with the connection so plugged my speakers back in and now they are doing it, have i broken something? what can i do? i dont think iv changed any settings really

hope you can help thanks alot

hi just a side note - also did a restart it came back up no problem but loaded with this kind of windows 98 theme instead of my nice vista one

Explain to me how HDMI did not work. Did you plug the HDMI cable from your GPU directly to the TV?

You should be able to get the HDMI to run both audio and video with that one cable. I'm not sure how to get the audio as I've never tried but I've run my tv from mini-hdmi to hdmi to my tv and had video pop up right away. Just make sure to go into your screen resolution thing and click on detect displays.
