It seems so.
http://www.amahi.org/support/instructions
Basically do a persistent install on the USB key then install Amahi.
Though it won't be as fast as if it was installed on a HDD.

Why did google fail? Or why would would OP want to put Amahi on a USB key?

8 gig usb keys are $8 and that much more space for storage. That's why I would do it. Cheap + more storage with little effort = win

Well USB sticks are cheap (got 16gb free AR @ newegg), don't take up valuable sata ports, and don't take up space for operating system on storage drives.

Good point...but if you're struggling to reclaim 2GB of space, you really should just buy bigger hard drives.
