guys i have bought a new cpu fan because my cpu was going to almost 60c while idle or just serving web and 70c, while gaming so i decided to buy a new cpu fan because i was told it was good and the fan makes my cpu temp always at 50c, i never hear the fan but i want to make the fan go 100% speed

my motherboard is a ASUS M2N61-AX
and my cpu fan is a Artic Cooling Rev 2.0
and using AMD athlon 64 x2 6000+

im thinking of overclocking but i want my cpu cooler but idk how to make cpu fan go 100%

60c idle on any cooler/chip is way to hot.

Could be a bad mount, or bad air flow in the case,

temps could probably be fixed by just remounting the heatsink with new TIM.

if the fan is attached to the motherboards cpu fan header, there is probably an option in the bios for fan control

I would leave overclocking till later till you can get the stock temperatures sorted, not sure how long that amd chip will last at 60c plus.

try speed fan under Windows, see if your motherboard is supported.

how are you monitoring the cpu temperatures, what application?

First thing i would do is remount the heatsink. Make sure you dont have to much thermal paste.

ok

like Moparmansaid, best to do a remount ASAP.

assuming this is the same cpu you have, amd rate your cpu at 62C,so your temps seem pretty serious.

OP: please go to UserCP, look on the left and find Add System. Then add your specs so we will know what you're trying to do.

Arctic Cooling makes several heatsinks. Which one are you using?
