LA noire killed my ps3 and others

Thread Starter
Was playing it today, and it shutdown, and wont come back on. I let it sit an hour and still wont turn back on. Apparently its happening to others. All of my buds are having the issue too.

Here is Sonys take on it.

We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire. At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat. We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise. If you are experiencing any issues with L.A. Noire or your PS3 hardware, please contact technical support using any of the means provided below:

To much for teh Cell? That sucks dude, hope your PS3 isn't dead, but apparently, even if it is you have a lifetime warranty (according to what I read yesterday) I thought it was a year but oh well.

I have an old PS3 from when they first came out, I dust it regularly and had 0 problems playing for 5 hours straight. Imo since most problems seem related to older PS3s, sounds like some people aren't keeping them clean.

They owe you a new ps3. Oh yeah, its related to security on the ps3 that prevents piracy, or so I've heard on other websites.

They didn't even do testing on this game before releasing it. How is the game going to fail on the original ps3. Failed! I also heard its messing up on 360's but don't all 360 games mess up. Pc is the king in the end, this is what Rockstar gets for betraying the Pc and not releasing it for the pc.

I do. It's not exactly the same though.

Quote:
According to a Rockstar Customer Services representative, the latest PlayStation 3 firmware update, 3.61, which was released as part of an ongoing effort to fill in the holes caused by the recent hack on the PlayStation Network, is actually doing more harm than good on slightly older console models.

"We have received some reports of PS3s overheating while playing L.A. Noire or beeping three times before shutting down/turning themselves off, mostly on older 60GB and 80GB fat models," begins a statement found on Rockstar's website.
