Aluminum does nothing for your computer case other than LOOKING cool, the panel on the midi is designed to imitate aluminum and it does a very good job at that so you are really paying extra for nothing.

You paid twice as much as the midi and got a steel 600T with an aluminum plate stuck on the front panel. Name some things the 650D does that the midi can't?
Aluminum is light, and its relatively durable and doesnt FEEL cheap.

Relocate hard drive cages. More than 2 5.25 bays. Taller rad area. Corsair suppourt.

Well... looks like I'm not getting a HAF 922 anymore

Any idea when this hits the market?

My 650D ships tomorrow and this is tempting, but I think I'll ultimately stick with the 650D.

:

Uh....no. Aluminum has quite a few benefits over steel or plastic. Modding is much simpler and cleaner. It's weight is a huge factor. Ever try lugging a fully loaded 800D up a flight of stairs? Imagine if a CaseLabs M10 was steel and not aluminum. Good luck getting that thing around by yourself. Not to mention aluminum dissipates heat better than plastic or steel.

I was hoping Fractal design would provide this as an aluminum chassis as well. Unfortunately that's not the case here, and it's a lost sale. Would have been a nice backup rig.

The steel on the 650D is thin considering how expensive it retails for.

Yes a full aluminum case allows for easier modding and a lower weight but that's where the benefits stop, even corsair george agrees!

My argument was directed at someone making a statement comparing a 90% steel case (650d) to a 90% steel case (midi).

Extra LMAO at you thinking an aluminum case will keep your rig any cooler than a steel case.
