My new Hurrican

Thought I'd drop a mini review since I have seen a few posts concerning the Hurrican.
Got it in the mail today. You can check all the pics on various websites to see the looks and dimensions. I wasn't overtly concerned about the size, as my last case was an Xclio A380, which is also a full tower.
Got it out of the case and it was undamaged, which is always a plus. Came with all the hardware, but be warned. Apparently AzzA first included 2 black SATA cables and 2 red clipping SATA cables. Then they switched to 4 red clipping cables.
This is no longer the case. AzzA now ships a single red, non clipping SATA cable. At least in my order.
I had watched plenty of video reviews of the case, and read all the hardware site reviews I could find, so nothing about the build really surprised me.
It all went extremely easy, even with the addition of my Sunbeam FC. Cable management was a breeze compared to the Xclio, and the whole experience of pulling the hardware from my old case and installing it to the Hurrican took about 2 hours. And that included reconfiguring the stock 120mm fan from the rear exhaust to the bottom intake, and cleaning all my hardware between the cases.
I decided to switch from my 2xUltra Kaze's running in P/P on the H50 to a single Nidec Beta V running exhaust, and so far my temps have dropped from a 30C idle down to a 26C. I'm not sure if that's because of the new fan config or the case airflow itself. I will state that the case is MUCH quieter than my old one, but that's due to me going hog-wild with 38mm blowers in the old case. My GPU temps have also both dropped around 3C compared to the old case, possibly due to the bottom mounting of the PSU.
Speaking of which, the bottom PSU mount also has rubber feet to isolate any errant vibrations, which is a nice bonus.
The fan filters for the front fans and the PSU and bottom intake are very nice, and easy to remove. I'm sure I would have liked additional filters for the side 230's and the rear-of-mobo 120, but I'm certainly happy with the way things are.
The "easy-swap" HDD enclosure is also quite nice, although if anyone is interested it is NOT Hot-swap! You have to power down before removing or adding any drives. But the system is really handy. No more need to even open a side panel to add a non-SSD drive.
I can't really comment on the USB 3.0 functionality, as my mobo doesn't support it.
The fans themselves are indeed a bit on the slow side. I expected this from the 230's, as they don't need to push high RPM's to move air, but the front 120's are also pretty slow. I plan to replace these in time with some higher RPM blue LED fans, which we all know are fairly cheap.
I did originally want to try to mount the H50 on the bottom 120mm intake, but alas, the hoses were too short. I may experiment with the idea again using a 72mm shroud.
All in all, I am extremely happy with my purchase, and give kudos to the fine folk at AzzA for designing a case that really should appeal to all the enthusiasts out there, barring those with a need for quad dual slot solutions, as the there are only 7 expansion slots.
Great temps, quiet, easy to work with, awesome cable management, easy swap drive trays, quality build construction...I'd say this is a great case at a great price, and should be easily considered as an equal to the HAF X when considering a full tower.

Nice Review, but real quick... I own the hurrican and the 800d. The hurrican is awesome for the price and the build quality really is great and it is also a great contender for the haf x but..... This is not in the same league as the 800d and never will be.

I wasn't particularly referring to the 800D as it's twice the price.
I should have specified the lower end of the Obsidian line.

Perhaps you are thinking of the Graphite series, rather than the Obsidian. From what I can tell, the 650d, 700d, and 800d all are built to a similar quality and style.

Even still, it sounds like you're happy with your new case and it works well for you. A pic of your hardware in the case would be nice as not all reviews actually post pictures of a fully stocked case.

Yeah, I'm prolly thinking of a completely different line of cases entirely. I will edit forthwith!
And I can throw out a pic or two once I've spent a little more time getting the cabling exactly how I want it.
I was in a bit of a rush to get everything together yesterday, as I wanted to get a look at some temps.

Pics...bear in mind it's both my first attempt at real cable management, and my first attempt to get decent picture on a case...

Good job on the cable management.

I have that case too. I tried it out and liked it. It is going to house my next upgrade of AMD's Bulldozer.
