Fps drops, help please

Thread Starter
At random points in time, my fps drops, horribly low, I wish I knew the problem, or what to do, but I dont, I tried defragging, reg clean, and its basically a new pc, my setup is m4a77td/usb3 motherboard, 6850 hd 1gb gpu, 965 be phenom cpu, 700w xtreme gear psu, 8gb 1600mhz ram, and random points of starcraft 2, brink, dragons age 2, and a few other games, the fps just drops to 3 for 2-5 minutes, my cpu is liquid cooled with asetek 550lc, so that cant be it, my gpu dosent get over 50, maybe 53 on hot days, and I have a decent and pretty ventilated case, so what on earth can be wrong?

Um...looks like this is a system from cyberpowerpc or ibuypower. Am I right? Anyways, I would love to give you my input on your system. I see that you have a pretty decent graphics card so that wouldn't be the problem unless you are running the games at higher settings. I've used a 5850 on extreme settings, playing starcraft and the frames only drop when there's 4v4 battles but never to 2-3. All I can say is that maybe your settings might be a little high for your graphics card.

yes cyberpowerpc, well I play at random settings, so high, low, and it still does this, on high or ultra, its completely playable, for 10-15 minutes, then for that 5 minutes it drops to 3fps, its very annoying and I need help lol

Laughed a little when i read cyberpowerpc. You're most likely overheating.

Um, it might be overheating, do you have any outtake fans at the top? what about intake from the front and the sides?

The thing about cyberpower is that I would always assume they use refurbished items for their computers because from a business perspective they can make money that way. If you are under warranty, you can get it fix from them, otherwise if you just got it, get a refund and build your own.

Its alot cheaper too if you know what to look for...

Well nothing is overheating, except the motherboards heatsink, that gets too hot to touch with bare hands, which is why im buying a new one, im hoping that will fix the issue, otherwise im blowing my brains out... lol, but no I have 1 fan, bottom front, and 1 exaust, top back, I just bought another fan and im going to install it on the side panel window, or is there a better spot for it?
