For the HD5830, you can't really get better than that, and as for the PSU, are you sure you need that much power plus modular?

That PSU isn't very good. You can get a much better one for the same price. Get the Antec NEO ECO 620C instead. It'll be able to handle two of those 5830s (if you use adapters) just fine and has MUCH better internals than the OCZ unit.

As for the GPU, that's one of the best bang-for-bucks at the moment. Go with that.

$155 after MIR

The graphics card is boss you can max crysis with 4x AA, and 650w of bronze means you can eventually get another 460 and sli the two.

Yea that would be ideal... however like i said, my friend has a 160( 170 pushing it) price limit... so that would be over it. As of right now that psu is one of the cheapest price wise and modular is just a huge benefit that comes with it...

My main concern is the gpu, do you think i should get a better gpu at the risk of a worser psu?

That looks just fine to me if you're on a budget. Not the best PSU in the world but it's definitely not bad by any means. Sapphire is a great choice of GPU manufacturer, wouldn't go with any other model.

How would that be pushing it? The PSU is $70, just like the one you posted.

If your friend only wants to run one GPU, a smaller PSU can be had, but you're not gonna save all that much. Basically, look at it like this: get something like the Radeon HD 5830+Antec NEO ECO 620C for $180, and have the ability to get another Radeon HD 5830 used later on for more performance. OR, you can get something like an Antec EA-380D and save $30 there and get a GeForce GTX 460 768MB and enjoy 10% more performance. Your pick, but two Radeon HD 5830s down the road sounds much better, and you get a much better PSU.

Update: the budget is now 200 at MAX anything lower would be ideal...

Is this the best bang for the buck in this price range?
