Have you initialised the drive from Disk management?

Start>Control Panel> Administration Tools>Computer management> Disk Management
post #3 of 7
try going into disk management and creating a new volume with the drives and making sure letters are assigned properly and such

is it internal or external ?

I assume both drives were working before and have already been partitioned. If not, do that first. Otherwise, start troubleshooting the HD. Take it out and listen for it spinning up, make sure it's seen in the BIOS, and download Acronis True Image WD edition and see if that can see the drive. It will also help you create a partition if you need it to.
