First gaming build. Educate a newbie!

I'm on my first step of building a computer, in a previous post I suggested a build and you guys were very helpful and made me change my mind about every component I had chosen (with good reasons). Here is my second attempt of a build, now with Sandy Bridge =).

Processing
Intel Core i7 2600k
EVGA Nvidia GTX 580 3gb
ASUS P8P67 DELUXE LGA 1155

Memory
Corsair Vengeance Blu 8 GB PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3 240-Pin SDRAM Dual Channel Memory Kit

Storage
OCZ Vertex 3 Sata 3 120gb
Western Digital 2 TB Caviar Black SATA 6GB/s 7200 RPM 64 MB (for hot swap with my htpc)
Western Digital WD Caviar Black 1 TB SATA 6 GB/S 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache

Case & Cooling
Corsair CC800DW Obsidian 800D Cpu Case
Corsair Hydro Series H70 Water cooling

Power
Corsair Proffesional S Gold High Performance 1200W PSU (for future SLI)
APC L12000 Voltage Regulator

Extras
LG Electronics 10X Blu-ray SATA Writer Drive with Software WH10LS30K - Bulk
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Collector's Edition (The whole reason I'm replacing my old Mac)
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD Internal Sound Card with THX SB1270

I'll be using it for gaming mainly, although I would like it to run Photoshop+Developing applications fast.

I'll want to overclock the processor a little bit, what number would be safe with that water cooler?

Any suggestions? Does this build seams reasoneable to you guys?

And thank you, I'm already loving this forums =D

Looks good, might want to water cool the GPU and get a loop for the CPU.

Yeah your getting a similar build to mine, so of course it's good lol. Except your budget is higher =)
I cant help you with water cooling, but you might have a problem. The p67 chipset motherboards can only run 1 pcie slot at 16x this isnt usually a problem. But because you have the sound card, or if you decide to use an y other pcie slot it will run at 8x. So if your planning at running very high resolutions just remember that. Good luck

Let it be. He might want to add another 580 down the road for SLI.

Dude do you know what you're talking about? Getting a full out loop isn't necessary unless you want to hit high numbers. He never even considered going up to say 5Ghz in the OP.

Everything pretty much looks good. The PSU might be overkill, but if you plan on running more 580s in the future, then it might be worthwhile.

About overclock, I'd say you can hit 4.7 with safe temps. I believe TJ Max is 73? Correct me if I'm wrong.

TJ Max is 98C.

You can easily get 4.9GHz on the H70.
I get that now on the 2500k with an H60.

Thank you for your reply! Where can I evaluate the performance drop from 16x to 8x? I would be playing at 2560x1440

You should be able to get 4.8GHz+, but it depends on the CPU. If your lucky then 5.2GHz. And you would be fine with a 850W PSU, but i don't know your intentions. If you were using Tri-SLI 580's then i would understand the need for a 1200W. Ill post a link to a video on power consumption and PSU wattage when i find the link again. Video below:

Ill also add the link to 16x vs 8x, but basically there is absolutely no difference with todays cards. Even with two 590's you will be fine with 8x. Proof:
