Is this normal? CPU Speed shown in Mhz?

Thread Starter
I recently set up my newly built computer and I looked at the "basic information about your computer" window and noticed the cpu speed said 943 Mhz. Is this normal? It seems to be running pretty fast after all.

If this helps I recently overclocked it using the turbov evo program that came with my motherboard (Asus M4A87TD EVO) which might I add is the easiest overclocking program I've ever seen. Anyway, should I worry?

Pic below...

Windows XP. =.=

I suggest using CPU-Z to check your Freqs instead of that.

The system information is showing the CPU in Cool & Quiet mode.
Try it with CPU-Z as others said,or use Core Temp ,which lists speeds for each core, and CPU temperatures.
Why XP?

Anyways, this is what I got from CPU-Z. Now I'm no tech savvy so If anyone could explain all this to me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Probably one of the power/heatsinking features of your CPU is on in the BIOS.

It downclocks your CPU to save energy and to keep it cool.

Also, I just checked the BIOS.

I overclocked the Phenom II x4 925 to the speed of a Phenom II x4 965 which is according to the BIOS, 3371 Mhz. I imagine this is about 3.4 Ghz, so if thats the case, then I think I'm good. But by all means, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, that's Cool 'N Quiet. You are fine. As you use your PC for various tasks it will speed up accordingly. You can disable it if you like as well.
