Hmmm what the heck is Bulldozer? I've heard people talking about BullDozer and Sandybridge like it's some kind of savior but I have not a clue what that is???

I also think you should go with intel and ati or intel and nvidia; 2500k is great price to performance and is better than the current amd lineup in pretty much every cpu intensive aspect. However, if you are an amd fanboy wait till BD (it might be worth your while).
If you like to talk out your ass like this guy, go with nVidia.

Honestly it depends on the games you play or want to play. Nvida is more expensive but if the price difference is a problem, then you don't need to build a computer.

Sandy Bridge = i5 2500k CPU or i7 2600K CPU. they are cheap and perform really fast.

Bulldozer = New AMD CPU coming out Mid June. It should be good and probably cheap too.

Cool so If I do decide to upgrade then wait for the BD to come out and go with that then.

if you wanna computer right now there is absolutely nothing wrong with sandy bridge. no matter how good bulldozer turns out to be sandy bridge is still going to be very fast.

if you can wait, however, bulldozer with 8 cores and clock speeds comparable to sandy bridge sounds very tempting.

Yeah, I can wait. My system is going great now, just looking for the next thing

I've heard people say that the 6 cores were a waist for gaming, why is that?

Funny, my BSOD for me was from 6870 cards using 10.0 drivers in crossfire. If there is any reason to not get a card due to driver issues AMD is known for more driver issues hands down. So tit for tat Stefy.

My 4850 & 5870 cards seem to have been plauged with driver issues gaming but I stuck it out for a few years before finally giving up on ATI drivers myself.

My GTX 580 not one single issue, to each his own experience.

This question is just like comparing a Camero to a Mustang, sure they are both comparable, offer slightly different price points, and slightly different stats, But at the end of the day it really comes down to personal preference. Years ago I was a huge Nvidia fan, and would have never considered ATI cards based on some mythical bias I had developed, Then one day I sat down on a friends computer and was blown away by a card I thought was inferior.

Today I own a pair of 6950s, minus a few very minor driver headaches after the initial setup they run fine now. My choice was purely price vs. performance motivated, it was cheaper for me to run dual 6950s than buy the highest end Nvidia card.
