But the beauty is that if you're assembling the system for the first time, and let's say you did ESD-fry the CPU (or some other component), you'd never really know, and just think that the component was DOA or something. The biggest risk is really just the time it would take to RMA a DOA component.
Regardless, I've found all I need to do is touch the PSU with it plugged into the wall socket, and all seems to have been fine and dandy for the last decade.
