I think the haf cases have good cable management. they come now with the inside already painted black, imo cant beat them.

Indeed I do like the HAF cases, they are not bad, but as I said in my first post I am not fully pleased with them. I know I'm picky, but after struggling for 5 years or so with a crammed mid-tower case that has been modded to death (until now I didn't have the budget for a nice full tower), I know exactly what I want and the HAFs aren't all that I want. Indeed the Xigmatek Elysium is a bit overkill since I won't be installing an EVGA SR-2, but in every other aspect it's everything I want and more..

Question, area the 3,5" hotswap bays removable so I can install 5,25" devices in the HAF X?

Check out the dragon rider its not too bad however I don't think the cable management is quite as good as the haf-x.

Also you'll see people saying you can't fit the large fan with a decent cpu heatsink but you can just bolt it through the mesh slightly lower and wahla you have a 220 blowing directly on your GPUs

I think I'm misunderstanding your OP. Have you even tried the HAF cases? I promise you will not be disappointed.
