Am I missing anything?

Thread Starter

Please tell me I'm not. I don't want that price tag to hit $1000 not including shipping. To be completely honest I'm not sure when [hopefully before summer fully hits] I'm going to be able to get the funds together to make this order, but I want to be prepared when I can.

Everything look alright? I'm slightly confused on fitting size and tube sizing. Also now that I'm thinking about it I might be missing the Xfire connectors... Cheers.

That's quite a lot to put in one build...

I don't know if the rasa pump will take that very well, you might be better off getting a fully custom loop.

The tubing size is ok, but my preference would be to get 3/4" OD tubing, it just makes it less likely to kink.

Also, you have 2 360 rads in that order, I'm a little curious as to where you plan on putting those in your case. I mean I've seen mods manage more than that, but they haven't been small changes to the layout...

I'm confused as to why the Rasa Kit is needed in this case. The 750 pump is woefully underpowered for such a massive loop. Also, the Rasa pump/res combo would render the FrozenQ res as redundant. A 35x or 355 pump would be more effective and allow you to properly use the specialty res.

I'm also wondering why the mix and match between the RX360 and RS360. Two RX360's or an RX360 + RX240 would be better suited for this loop. Are there case restrictions you are worried about? The 800d is a rather cavernous case... You could mod so an RX480 fits up top (losing a few 5.25" bays) and an RX240 in the bottom compartment, seems to be a popular configuration.

Also, do you plan on running 2x HD 6990's and a single HD 5970 in the same machine? Not sure if this can be done...

You don't need 10 fittings. It looks like each of the GPU blocks come with their own barbs, the Rasa Kit (should you choose to stick with it) also comes with its own barbs. You'd only really need fittings for the extra rad in this case. If you don't get the Rasa Kit, then you would need 10 barbs...

I agree that 3/4" OD tubing is best suited for this application, along with some kind of clamps to keep the tubing on the barbs (worm drive, spring steel, etc). Get more than 5 feet. If this is your first loop you will likely screw up at some point, best to have extra.

I assume you'll be using Distilled water purchased from another source (grocery). Everything else looks ok

Updated the cart a little. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Ditched the rasa kit, going completely custom! *excited* Also changed the tubing.

I chose the RX360 and RS360 because I believe *going to check* I can fit the RX on top and the RS on on the rack between the PSU and Mobo. Looking into what it takes to mod the RX480 and an RX240. Plus possibly a RX120 on the outtake on the back.

That current cart has absolutely no barbs at all, I really have no idea what barbs to get for CPU, the rads, the res, and the 3 GPU blocks in serial.

Yeah they will all be running, however the two 6990s will actually be used for gaming/photoshop/etc. The 5970 will be doing its own thing.

Just a heads up, that 250ml res is going to be big and might be hard to find a nice spot to mount it without kinking any tubes. I have the 160ml one in the same case as you and once you get the fittings on it, there isnt much room at all on my 160ml. Just trying to help ya out.

For reals? I'll have to take some measurements. The 160mL helix res is so small

Also are mobo & ram blocks really worth it? I'm tempted if they are, but if they aren't then I'd rather not add them to the loop.

That is more like it. I still don't think you need the RS360. Swap that out for a RX240. Here's a video on how to mod the 800d for a bottom compartment 240 rad:

Fittings can be whatever you like. However I think you're best off with 1/2" barbs and worm drive clamps for now. Not the prettiest solution, but the least likely to spring a leak imo, easy to set up, and it's probably the one of the least expensive ways to get your loop up and running.

Also, see this thread documenting multiple loyal EK users being hosed by EK and their faulty nickel plating on their WB's:
http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...ck-issues.html

If you must use EK, go with their non nickel plated types. Also, how do you plan on connecting the GPU blocks? People tend to use the EK bridge to connect them:

Ram blocks are a waste of money. Mobo block might be worth it if you're going to some extreme overclocks or it won't get much airflow anymore due to the WC loop. Otherwise, it adds a ton of restriction and costs quite a bit. You'd likely have to step up to dual pumps in order to keep your flow rate up in that large of a loop.

The 160 isnt too small, I think its a good size and looks great in the 800D. Here is a link to my setup with the RX360 and 160mil Helix res.....

http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...stom-loop.html

I only have the CPU in the loop right now but there is a ton of room for adding my gpu and mobo.

I don't see hose clips on the list.

Don't ask me which are good, I still use worm drives
