I know, right? One guy accused me of cheating in BC2 because we were shooting at one an other and I got a headshot with the pistol (which I pulled out after I wasted an entire mag trying to hit him)

Odd socks, that's a good one =D

If I were holding, or participating in, a competition, I would expect FOVs to be regulated.
FOV's being regulated in a competition is fine if every competition machine is exactly the same using exactly the same monitor. Otherwise, it's personal preference and mainly, anyone on a widescreen monitor, not optimising their FOV, has a disadvantage.

Changing the FOV does not give you an advantage over other players outside of personal skill. You could have an optimised FOV, I could not, but still kick your butt (just an example) because I'm a better player.

It's certainly no hack. Thankgod you can change it, I now have less tendency to chunder 'EVERYWAR' considering some of the terrible FOVs you get in some games!

Eddie.

Only a hack if you had to mod something not normally modifiable.

There was no modding involved period at all. Just a simple fov changed for Crysis 2 because the default settings sucked anyways. I felt comfortable at a bigger fov setting.

That actually is a bit of a toughy I'd say. I mean if it enables you to see stuff to the side of you before someone else then yes. But at the end of the day I don't think it matters unless it is for a tournament.

In any case... good job. He was jealous.

Dear god no. There are no good 1920x1080 monitors for high level play. I would take my F520 (2048x1536 @ 85hz, 1024x768 @ 170hz, 1600x1200 @ 110hz) over any 1920x1080 display, since my display can do higher hz, has less input lag, and doesn't have ghosting. LCD screens suck for serious play, and that's why regulated resolutions suck. Always someone will be unhappy.

I would not even consider a FOV change an advantage in every case. It makes you see more, yes, which is better for close combat, but it makes seeing things far away more difficult, which is worse for long range combat.

Cheating? no. In comp play they usually set a limit. when I played ET ladder they set a limit of 105 or something. How is it cheating if they make a console command for it. While it does allow you to see more it also makes more information for you to take in.
