Cannot play Terraria...

Hello.

I purchased terraria and have tried playing it but I cannot play it at all. I've narrowed the cause down to a .net 4 problem.

I cannot install XNA for some reason, and whenever I try to launch the game I get errors about .net 4, and how I have no installed it correctly.

I've tried reinstalling it (twice), I've tried repairing it, I've tried validating it (which failed).

What can I do to get .NET 4 working?

Well what error do you get exactly?

I fixed it. Turns out when installing .net 4 it didn't (possibly doesn't for other people too) replace the old version of mscoree.dll, which is a needed file for .NET

So when .NET tried running it would fail due to an outdated mscoree.dll, fortunately I was able to manually update it by unzipping some files from the .NET 4 installer and changing some permissions for myself.

So what did you do in full detail because I can't start the game still and I don't know what to change.
