Yep, it sure does. Why was there no mention of the 580?

480's idling in the 90's?

My 470 idles in the mid 30's, and at full load does not go past 65, not even when folding.

I just happen to be folding right now, and here's a SS:

He should add this as well:

I can't wait for Dave12 to be CEO of anything, he's a brilliant guy. Sounds like he has direction, and has his facts straight.

I wonder where the idea came from to run Warhead with no AA and shaders at gamer instead of enthusiast for the GTX setup.. Isn't the idea with these kind of setups to run everything at max? Seeing as they got 50-60fps avg with it I just really don't get it. I doubt 2xaa and highest settings would've made the game unplayable all of the sudden.

Oh well.. Nice results anyways but not really a 'VS' kind of thing.

they ran it like that because it is not getting playable performance at enthusiast with AA on. it may be getting frequent dips to 1 or even 0 fps. the minimum is 15 fps so i imagine that upping it to enthusiast and adding AA would not be pleasant.

the line graphs however, are a straight up comparison with the same settings for each setup.

Do I? I hadn't noticed. Thanks for pointing that out.

Here I thought that I had a reference 470.

Your GPU is MSI Twin Frozr II, as in not a stock cooler on it. Thank you for proving your intelligence.

I guess sarcasm isn't understood by everyone.

I still have a GTX470 don't I? I never buy reference designs as soon as they are released. It's called being a smart consumer.

My card is cool and quiet, something 470's aren't supposed to be right?

I also got it for $270 before the 580 or 570 were released. Yet, I didn't need to upgrade to the 5xx series.

With the 470 clocked @ 800-1600-1800 there's nothing I can't play @ 1080p. Besides, gaming isn't the primary use for my card. It works very well for me in Premiere.

Obvious sign of nVidia fanboy: ignoring the topic of 590 vs 6990. Nvidia screwed up throwing 2 $400-500 gpu's on a $700 card. Simple. All I can say is, I hope they had fire extinguishers nearby for the 590 SLI test.
