I think I was in that mode for about 10 minutes before I couldnt help but flip the switch, this is Overclock.net after all. So then the oc'n started. At 1025 core / 6Ghz ram now in quadfire and the performance increase is extremely noticable.

Watercooling cards like this is almost a given. If you arn't going to do that, personally I wouldn't bother. Especially two.

Another review Id like to see is quadfire/sli tri screen tests at both x8 x8 and x16 x16. I bet you anything that these cards will show a significant performance difference at that massive rez with af and aa.

and I agree with ragingcain, both still have very immature drivers but they are quickly getting better and they better keep it up too.
Yeah, obviously the 6990 can OC and get even better performance unlike the 590. BC2 was the only one at 24xAA though and only because the 590SLI wouldn't work at that res for some reason or the comparison would of been around 4xAA like the other games. 60 average FPS is bad though because that means around half the time you're under 60 which is very bad for fps games.

Still not happy with 4 gpus at 6.9M pixels. I know the 580 3GB version for $2100+ pumps out a lot more performance than either of these two but that's just too much money to have to spend on only video cards every year. I can't wait for Southern Islands and Kepler.

Each gets it's advantages and disadvantages, If I could, I'd run two 590's and two 6990's in the same system

Numbers look pretty similar although it appears red is still on top...question though

What the heck happened to the 590's in F12010? Am I the only one that thinks it looks like a really bad graph?

I had my fanboy moment when I saw stuttering with the 6990 in Crysis 2, I'm ashamed of making that post, I think I might have been tired It looks like nVidia still leads in minimum framerate, and when very heavy tesselation is used, but until there's a 6Gb 590, AMD wins in multi-monitor, especially being able to run Eyefinity with only one card (minus the 460 2Win and 590). Woot for a single component that costs as much as a mid-range system.

Edit: Wow. I completely missed where two 590's had problems in Crysis Warhead and Metro...drivers updates to follow?

Sigh. Still posting misinformation?

There is no Crossfire bridge bandwidth limitation at all. That's now an internet myth, because of one guy that didn't knew how to install drivers properly, and posting those ''facts'' on 50 different internet forums.

My Eyefinity set-up with 3X30'' LCD is working fine with 6990+6970+6970. Those are facts.

The guy from whom you're taking that ''information'' wasn't able to install drivers properly. That's all. And he never contacted AMD like he said.

Ask AMD directly, instead of posting misinformation like that. Or buy the cards and the monitors like I did to try it for real, instead of repeating what you have read ''somewhere''.

There is no Crossfire bandwidth limitation. And I have a perfectly working Eyefinity set-up to prove it.

Son, you don't have 4-way. 4-way is very different from 3-way. The 2nd and 3rd card each have to carry an additional frame buffer on top of their own over the bridge. Card 2 had to pass on itself, card 3 and card 4s data all at the same time. Why do you think AMD instructed [H] to connect both crossfire bridges in order to eliminate problems? SLI doesn't have this problem as each card can communicate directly to another card.

And trying to say that Vega doesn't know how to install drivers just shows how childish you are. 2GB regardless of brand isn't "fine" for 12M pixels either. Enjoy playing with 0xAA. There's a reason you won't post any benchmarks.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you wrote up all that arguement without looking at the fact that he has a 4 gpu setup.
