DirectX 11 no difference?

Hi guys if i switch between directx 10 and directx 11 or even between directx9 i hardly notice any improvement, graphic looks same, so i think that directx 9, directx 10 and directx 11 are same, it is just a cheap marketing trick like: "Ohh yeah this game running in directx11 so it must be awesome graphic" But i think that on directx no matter really, look at crysis 1 with directx9 which beat in graphic many directx 11 games.
Only big leap in graphic was betweem directx8 and direcx9 there were really difference...

Umm, i suppose i should ask, if the game your playing is full DX11 supported? lol
On DX11 titles i definitly see an improvement in gfx on my end anyway. Some games only have the DX11 API implemented for slightly increased performance, whilst others have fully implemented it into their development, and it up's most everything, if only marginally.

Thanks captain. It's pretty useless.

Bad Company 2 uses Dx11 anti aliasing, and soft shadows.

We buy DX11 cards because they are faster then DX10 cards, not the DX11.

while it is somewhat true it isn't the graphic leap we expected in the DX1-Dx8 days, there are still some ways in which DX11 can look better than older DXs provided they are done right. So far we are still in the early phase of DX11 in which it is being used, but not intensively yet as the market is still dominated by DX10 gpus and consoles.

For example in dragon age 2 i hardly notice any differences between directx9 and directx11. Much more depend on resulotion, game engine (graphic) and setting of graphic details than on directx.

I saw a huge difference from DX9 to DX10. DX11 just adds a bit more detail in places for now.

There's a huge difference between DX9 and DX11. Tesselation is one of the big features, but there are lots of little things that improve upon the older DX'es. The main feature of DX11 however, is efficiency. DX11 can do so much more than DX9 or 10 with the same amount of GPU power.

The reason why you aren't seeing differences is most likely that you aren't using a DX11 game or that you don't know what to look for.
Also, since everything has to be backwards compatible with DX9 because people don't think DX10 or 11 is worth it, we're using very little of what DX11 can do.

BTW, consider how a DX9 game looks. How does Crysis or BC2 look in DX9? They look good. Not great, but good. Graphics had already advanced so far with DX9, that any improvements are much smaller/more subtle. DX9 is relatively close to photo-realism, so there aren't many huge improvements to be done.
