teehee

Half-Life fan since its release. Heck, HL runs in the family. Kali is my older bro (used to be head honcho for BMS).

Half-Life 3/ HL2 Ep. 2 is the new Duke Nukem Forever. Promised, but never know if actually in development or not, and taking an eternity to get any answers.

You're far too late to feel the importance of the games, then. Episode 2 was one of the hardest games I've played to date. The end battle was frustrating as hell. And so fun...

I think HL2 still looks pretty decent. I love how powerlines will sway when a ship flies above them... and the sound was really immersive.

this sucks. I'd like to have episode 3 as well for hl2.

And at the time of release, HL2 (as well as HL1 before it) set new bars for quality of story/graphics/length. Nowadays HL/HL2 may not seem like that much but for the time they were big things.

Exactly. Half-Life 2 was first presented in 2003, and it looked awesome - the facial animation, the graphics, the mood, and when it was released in 2004, it was one of the longest games ever that didn't have any "filler" in it. It was all great.

So, MintMouse, you are a little late because you are unconsciously comparing it to what's available today. But if you go back and play games from those years you'll understand the importance.

You do have a point in the fact that EP1, which came out in 2006 and EP2, which came out in 2007 (incidentally, the same year Crysis was released), only brought modest improvements to the graphical quality. But by then we were already hooked up on the story to make that a big deal.

half life 2 suffered from themparkitus. They were constantly throwing areas together that made no sense, and then added various gimmicks to all kinds of sections of the game. It seemed like everytime i got somewhere new, the art direction made no sense, and then some stupid gameplay mechanic was added for that section.

Other than those complaints, i liked half life 2. I didnt enjoy the 2nd enough to care about the episodes or half life 3. Half life 1 on the other hand is a work of art and will always be on my list of top games.

The story! It's ruined for me .

But ya, I probably should start playing HL2. Installed twice and havent' broken 2 hours of gameplay.
