My last three video cards have been Sapphire before jumping fence and they were all solid. I always lean toward the company that makes a brand exclusively.

Sapphire for AMD.
EVGA for Nvidia.

Awesome cards. Look on Newegg at the Sapphire and XFX brand for each card series of AMD reference cards. You will see in each line the common denominator is more happy owners of Sapphire than XFX. Not saying they aren't good however, just saying I prefer Sapphire myself and so do others. Though Newegg does have more of those who don't know much about computers and they post things that are pretty inadequate you'll still be able to get the pulse on the cards.

Oh, and when your done, go over the the Sapphire club and join up and the [Official] AMD Radeon HD 6850/6870 Owners Thread :

Not true.

Also XFX gets my vote...

Which cooler on the cards? The newer Sapphire 6870's has the same cooler on the 6850 and it's not very good. If it's that one, I wouldn't get it.

Sapphire. I had to return a 4870 twice and had no trouble either time. Plus their customer service representatives are top notch.

let me please advice you... go with the SAPPHIRE BLUE PCB you wont regret it DONT GET THE SAPPHIRE REFERENCE... and dont get XFX.

blue pcb.. cools better, has better mosfets just all around can overclock higher run cooler and is a beast.

*so is my msi lighting* but I returned 2 reference 6970 sapphires waiting for the blue pcb one it never went back in stock So i decided to go up a notch and get msi lightning..

In your scenario.. BLUE pcb.. (the black one with a lock) that one is so legit.

EDIT: Im sorry ignore all that I THOUGHT it said 6970!!

I personally would pick XFX for RMA. Had two excellent experiences with them, whereas Sapphire gave me problems.
