Sure but with AMD you have to deactivate a profile, with nvidia you dont need to. That's the BIG difference.....

Really that's a BIG deal to you?
A hot key is that big of an inconvenience, really?

So you load a CCC profile for BC2, play for awhile, now you want to play Braid, load profile, play Braid.

Now what, play a game without a custom, assuming you've hot keyed the default settings it as simple has keying your bind.

Each and every profile you could ever want is a hot key away, not only can you bind IQ settings, but also fan speeds, clock speeds, and voltages to each and every profile you save.

Which really isn't something for the casual user, but the possibilities are endless with CCC profiles.

Not to mention, you could setup a profile for every game and have it launch the .exe automatically when you activate it... which you can also setup as a shortcut.

Yeah I didn't really mention that, sorta implied when referring to hot keys.

Does nobody in here just choose o let the application choose? Like I setup everything in the game's menu and it always works for that game, no external settings necessary.

Yes there are settings like AF in new games and both AA and AF in older games. Then some new games dont have built-in AA and nvidia drivers can force AA on some of them.
Then some DX10 titles like DMC4 dont have ambient occlusion built in but can be forced through the drivers. It's just much more flexibility for tweaking games.

It's good that there are OC settings in the CCC but it's only useful for those who only like to moderately overclock their cards. So if you really want to properly overclock your card you will have to use thrid party program anyways......you didnt sure get to 900Mhz with the CCC..
Actually I said you were 'forced' to used 3rd party software, with nvidia, i wasn't forced, i chose to lol, and CCC forces AA/AF on games as well btw.

And after finishing the game you HAVE to deactivate it. It wont deactivate itself upon closing the game how sad.

If I am like using MLAA then it will make my browser blurry if I forget to "deactivate" it.

Technically yes, but in reality loading the next game profile "deactivates" the previous profile.
And once again a simple hot key quickly reverts to default CCC settings.
And you're doing something wrong if your browser is blurry, I use MLAA in a couple of games without blurry browser issues.

Seems to me like you're complaining just for the sake of complaining, but hey you might have a legit complaint if you're an easily distracted person and maybe a bit on the forgetful side.
If that's the case, then yes "auto" profiles are definitely more suited for you.

But in spite of this minor inconvenience, CCC is far superior when it comes to profile options, editing, and managing.

I would actually like the feature the OP is missing - it was hilarious to force Oblivion to have terrible framerates, despite its age. But overall, I like ATI cards better. If you really can't live without this feature, hop back to nVidia. I hear most people don't have the atrocious failure rate I do with nVidia cards.

Is this a whine about "having" to micro manage versus AMD where you don't have to micro manage? It must be opposite day today.
