How Exactly do overzealous companies get held accountable? And by whom...

Wait for the government to do it? They don't protect citizens. They protect Large Companies within it's borders, and those companies interests abroad. Period.

Lets think about this...rationally. Selfish people "Ruined" something for you.
-You couldn't download movies via PSN for 4 weeks approx
-You couldn't play multiplayer games via PSN
-No DL songs through the service I hadn't heard of.. O'something...
-You couldn't access PSN for nearly a month, during finals weeks - "Wow my grades went up"...how'd that happen?
-And so far no confirmed mass misuse of anyone's CC info. I think Sony lied, but thats my opinion.

So was this "Ruin" so bad, It didn't stop anyone from playing their PS3 with installed games. I typically think of Ruin as "I'm out of Business", Not "Timmy took my Baseball for 4 weeks" I'm ruined

The other Gorrilla in the room, if confirmed that Sony's computers were horribly behind in patching, and basically "Had the Door Wide Open for Intruders". As a former PSN customer, I'm glad someone exposed Sony's lack of PCI standards when it comes to credit cards. If you get hacked and your CC numbers were in files unencrypted?!?!

Oops, You Don't Deserve To Handle Millions of Records of Customer Data. The audacity is that they complained in Shock. "We been Hacked!!!

If I leave the keys in the ignition in an unlocked 2002 Honda Accord, and have my kid's college fund, in cash, in a bag in the back seat.

When I come walking home and the wife punches me in the face, what can I say? Those Ba$terds robbed us? Just before all my stuff gets thrown out on the lawn...

Sony is getting what they deserve, they are being held accountable for their actions.

Sony just needs to re-from their entire network structure and security and then we can move on.
