Do I have a strong enough PSU for the HD9650 to HD6970 shader mod?

Hi.
I currently am using an Acbel 610W watt ( 660W Max out put ) PSU, is this strong enough for the HD6950 shader unlock mod? I have a quad core intel i7 2600k CPU at 3.4GHz installed if that helps answer my question. Also, can the mod be done with the BIOS switch on the graphics card in either position? Or does it have to be in the 1 position?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Yea 660w should be fine. But if you plan to upgrade a corsiar/antec psu 700/800w psu wouldnt hurt too much

You'll be very much fine. I'm running dual overclocked 6950s unlocked and my 2600k @ 4.3ghz, and powering a watercooling system, and I have no voltage problems at max draw with a 750w. A single 6950 shouldn't draw more than ~220w or something like that, so you're more than fine. If you got another 6950, then you might have some room for concern.

For a rough estimate of power requirements, you can always use the PSU calculator here.
