Where are all the 6990's?

Newegg, Frys, tiger direct, etc are all basically out of stock. Newegg shows that MSI is deactivated, and the only one they have is a $900 powercolor. Tigerdirect has just Powercolor when they used to have most of the major brands just 2 weeks ago. IS AMD dumping the 6990? I wanted to buy an MSI or Sapphire 6990.

I've got one in my closet unopened. Internal struggles ensues over whether to open it or not...

What daemons are you wrestling with that prevent you from installing it?

Looking at AMD's site and the sellers for them. Most of them that pop up are out of stock or are charging way too much for them. Like a 100 bucks more than normal. I dont want it that bad. Tiger has a powercolor but I am not sure about that brand.

That's one way to deal with it.

same here, reference 6950 2gb are becoming scarce (newegg) too. I'm waiting for a memorial day sale (hopefully) to pick some 69xx cards, not sure which ones though

good idea. Consider SLI gtx 570's
Get two 6950 in CF or two 570 or 560t in SLI. I think those three cards are the sweet spot if your comfortable running dual cards

EDIT ______________ Topgear, why not try adding a 6950 to your 6970? Thats what Im looking to do in the fall.
