Pushing my PhII X420!!

Thread Starter
Got the X3 720 Black Edition and unlocked it to X4:20 a while ago. Been thinking about pushing it faster ever since!

I'm at 3.255MHz right now with the following settings: (in order of appearance on BIOS). Idle around 34~38C ...

CPU Clock Ratio: x15.5
CPU North Bridge Clock: x11
Host Clock: Manual
CPU Frequency Control: 210
PCIe: Auto
PCIe Spread Spectrum: Diabled
HT Link Width: Auto
HT Freq: Auto
Memory Clock: Auto (x6.66)
[Voltages]
CPU PLL: 2.500V
DRAM: 1.520V
DDR VTT: 0.750V
NB Voltage: 1.15V
HT Link: 1.200V
NB/PCIe/PLL: 1.800V
CPU NB VID: +0.100V = 1.3000V
CPU Voltage: +0.100V = 1.4250V

How can I push it faster while maintaining stability?

The X3's are notorious for being a pain to OC to high levels...3.6ghz is the average...very few break past 3.8ghz

Well, judging by my settings, where do you guys see some improvements could be had?

Judging by your settings, the only thing I can recommend is bumping your multiplier up to 16.5 or 17 and reducing your B.clock to 208, and maybe increase your vCore a.k.a CPU voltage to 1.45. Not sure what your chip can handle as they are not all the same. I was able to get mine to 3.536 GHz stable with the above settings on air (see sig). Running it at 3.3 GHz now as I didn't really notice much difference in performance except for benchmark scores. Try those settings out and see if you have any luck.

i really hate reading this.
the 720 is a c2 chip. there is at the most a handful hitting 3.8 believe me. ive checked everywhere i can for help and clues to get past 3.6ghz . it also depends on the board.

from everything ive read 3.6 is the high point in the majority of high clocks on the 720. an x4 20, i dont see it getting any higher without serious cooling and then thats still not a problem. the chips run cool. they clock higher in almost all cases on an am3 board. 3.6 is only on am3 boards from EVERYTHING i have read. and it takes mega voltage.
a bit over 3.5 is normal on a ddr2 board if you can hit it without running into a voltage wall. it also depends on 32bit or 64bit. i could hit 3.2 unlocked on auto volts and 3.5 on 1.45-1.4626v on win7 32 bit. now im running a locked triple at 3.5 on 1.475 volts.
all i can say is dont get your hopes up.
check the stable/non-stable overclock max thread both locked and unlocked are there.
stated at the top,"stable defined by yourselves." that could mean anything including being able to post, boot and surf on firefox.
