I'm fairly new to OCN, and only started folding under a username (any and my own) in Jan this year. I started folding with a P4 2.0GHz Sckt 478, so you can imagine how much PPD that would get
i can't remember the date though, but it was a few years ago, when i was at colledge with free electricty and internet. i think it was '05 or '06. Pc was always on despite the lack of production
I started folding as anonyous for team 'default'
Then a friend of mine asked me to insert his username so he could climb up the ranks a little faster in a small team named portugal@folding. Since i never had a single point under my username, i decided to fold a few untis with my username before accepting his idea. it was '07. I folded under his username for about 2 years, until i got myself a state of the art i7-920, wich end up in ashes 3 weeks later
I stopped folding in late '09 and all 2010 and went back to production a couple of days after i joined OCN, after someone, can't remember who, kindly suggested that i put my little Athlon II X2 a few days folding to see if my OC was stable
Then i met the community, and stayed more addicted than ever
I have to admit than i was unfamiliar with all this SMP and GPU clients. I knew that the 8800GTS were beasts back in the day, and a 2 threaded CPU would have to run 2 instances of the unicore client to maximize production (or so i was told...), but i had never heard of bigadv for instance
F@H come a long way since '05
