Let's settle this, P67 or Z68? - Page 2

Z68.

Reasons:
- SSD caching (whether you will use it or not is another issue)
- Use of integrated graphics to boost performance in things like editing/rendering
- Only costs about 10-15 buks more than P67 so why wouldn't you get the newer technology?

i vote z68 for the SSD caching if the price difference is not that big
(i dont have enough for an SSD )

Don't forget a purchase of an SLC
With virtu from LUCID, or some proprietary stuff from intel, Z68 could go somewhere.

my bet is still z68, hey man I just want me a UD11 from Giga.

Does it have to be SLC or would MLC be acceptable? I know MLC is much cheaper.

SLC is faster, which helps prevent the SSD from slowing down writes (outer-rim writing to an HDD can be faster than MLC SSD writes, and since you write to both the SSD and HDD at the same time, the SSD would diminish write performance).

It's a question of larger cache vs. faster cache. I'd say a faster cache would be better (i.e. yes, SLC ), though I intend to cache with my 60Gb MLC because I already have one.
