Asus Rampage 3 Formula Compatible ram

Hey

Hello guys i was just wondering if the following ram would be compatible with the asus rampage 3 formula?

CMX6GX3M3B2000C9

I have looked at the ram compatibility list that asus have provided and did not see it listed there. Is this a good set of ram for the motherboard?

I was trying to find something that had a good price to performance ratio and started off with the 1600mhz modules

TR3X6G1600C8D
TR3X6G1600C8
CMP6GX3M3A1600C7

I understand that the first two are pretty much the same apart from the heatsink and obviously the price. Would these be fine if the 2000mhz memory is not compatible?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hey

Thanks for outlining that mate, do you think it would be good to get the 2000mhz ram? because I can get it for pretty much the same price as the 1600mhz ram listed. I was just curious as to why its soo much cheaper..

Cheers

2000Mhz of course is much better than 1600Mhz

If they're the same price, why go 1600MHz?

Its strange that in the USA the prices of those 4 sets of RAM are very similar, on UK sites the RAM is ranging from £67 for the TR3X6G1600C8, to about £80 for the CMX6GX3M3B2000C9 and £100 for the CMP6GX3M3A1600C7.

The differences between the RAMs are the speeds as you have mentioned, and the timings. The higher speed RAM, 2000mhz, has quite loose timings of 9-10-9-27, but the 1600mhz sets are the same price (or more expensive as I found) because they have tighter timings of 8-8-8-24, or 7-8-7-20, in the case of the CMP6GX3M3A1600C7 set.

Also the Corsair Dominator are Corsair's higher end of the product line up, they are probably made up of higher spec raw materials, and of course have a better performing heat spreader.

Hey

Hello 2800 I was wondering why it was cheaper i think it has to do with the timings as well (as Jay mentioned above) as when the product was released but I am not 100% sure I just thought the lower timings would be good.

Saying this I might have to have another look.

Thanks
