How did you fix the BFBC2 crashing issue? - Page 7

So I have had the pleasure of getting this game to run flawless on three different computers.

What has fixed my various issues.

Disable bloom. Causes flickering, and possible white screen with sound loop crash.
Do not use Afterburner with this game.
Its random, but when troubleshooting BC2 try out other software to overclock or control the fan on the GPU.
And the last fix, most important to me.
Turn AF down, for me it was 8x. Tried so many possible fixes on the last comp.
This ended up being it. Turn it up over that and the crash comes back.
I spent over a month trying to fix it until figuring that out.

Good luck.

No, I have never heard of either of those applications.

Reinstalled Windows, installed a few drivers and began personalizing my workspace, installed BC2 and the issue is still present.

So, something I did between now, and when I had a fresh install, triggers the problem. I've only installed drivers...

i had this problem, i thought it was drivers and all of that jazz but no success. So i thought maybe hardware and i opened cpuz and checked it all out and noticed that my ram frequency was at 1333, its sold as 1600 so i went into the bios changed it and it has not crashed since then. Any ideas why this worked for me(note have not read the whole thread)

Your crash was probably due to an unstable OC then.

So it's possible some of your hardware then is the culprit. It's possible that your board, your chip, one or both of your cards, a myriad of different possibilities are possible.

Your best bet would be to start doing the hard troubleshooting and testing individual components one by one...

No thats the point my ram is meant to be at 1600 but it was at 1333, it was underclocked essentially

It's not just me, tons of people are having this issue and it's not hardware-specific issue. Did you read the OP at all?

I know on the X58 platform RAM is capped at 1333mhz and can only be upped by overclocking. I'm guessing Intel did the same with P67.

But i dont see how changing it to 1600 really made that much of a difference. Like how does that make it not crash, lol if you understand.
