for all of you with BFBC2 problems please read this
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1106849

"Set BLOOM to false, false, false and everytime you make any changes or patch BFBC2, come to the setting file and make SURE its set to false.
FALSE is the setting for BLOOM"

Fallow the guide to the "T" and enjoy the game !

I certainly did read the OP. But considering that not everyone, even though many, have the problem you are experiencing, leads me down the path of hardware errors causing the issue.

Something obviously isn't jiving with BC2 with your particular system, no matter how similar the issue is with 100's or 1000's of other similar issues on other systems.

Lulz sorry apparently what I was referring to wasn't in the OP. The point I was trying to make is that the problem did not occur prior to the 4/9/2011 (I think) PB update. Only after I applied that update (and all the updates thereafter) the problem started occuring. Happens to tons of other people too, no one else had PB-related crashes prior to that Wednesday.

I should mention I did not make any changes to my hardware.

Curious then that PB somehow seems to be the culprit.

Fresh Install of windows

Had been playing the game for a while (couple months) one day it started locking, looping sound, CTD..

Tried a bunch of crap, nothing worked. Finally figured it started happening right after a windows update.

Fresh install fixed it.... Have not had a crash in months...

Perhaps I did install something? That just happened to coincide with the 4/9 update...
My fresh install did not fix crap.

Also, I set Bloom to false and now I'm getting CTDs, no hard reset or looping sound.

Didn't do anything to fix it. It hasn't crashed in a month now I did no updates only windows updates

I had the same problem when I built my sig PC.

The audio problem made me bsod, or the sound loop into a hard reset once I fixed that I had CTD within five minutes of playing messed with my mem timings and that solved the problem for me.

Edit: Looked at a old thread, seems my CPU vcore was also too low, while everything else was stable.
