It has to be a vPro CPU to have that function. Otherwise no such unit exists, and so cannot be hacked or used because - wait for the shock - it's not even on the CPU.

If you look here, you'll see both vPro 2nd gen CPUs and normal (non vPro CPUs) as categories.
Here - vPro: http://www.intel.com/itcenter/produc...vpro/index.htm
And here - normal: http://www.intel.com/itcenter/produc...mily/index.htm

So unless a processor says vPro on it it does not have "killswitch" on it at all.
Nor commercial desktop CPU has that feature, at all.
Stop making stuff up.
Have you looked on the chips schematics or you belive them because they say so ?!
Just asking.

Lol, you know, speaking of delays. Ivy Bridge has been pushed back to March or April of 2012 at earliest. Thats like Intel's 3rd delay on that, but they dont take heat like AMD cuz Intel does it regularly. If AMD keeps pushing back their products eventually no one will care like Intel. But AMD being a much smaller company cant continue to take those risks.

You're hilarious.

You keep going on and on about Ivy Bridge's delays.

You know what, who cares if Ivy Bridge is delayed! An AMD Fanboy such as yourself should be happy that IB is delayed, you know why?

Because if it was on time, your beloved AMD would be 3 generations behind.

You know why else it doesn't matter that IB is delayed?

Because Intel already has the best mainstream ( 2500K & 2600K ), and the best high end chips ( 990x ) on the market right now, part of their 80% market share.

Ivy Bridge is the die shrink of SB, which is due out a year later. With SB's sheer dominance right now, why wouldn't they push Ivy Bridge back, and sell more SB chips?

Plus, Ivy Bridge is bringing new 3D transistors, not just a die shrink to 22nm.

AMD on the other hand, is struggling to get Bulldozer out @ 32nm, which is coming out to compete against Sandy Bridge.

Are you aware that Bulldozer was supposed to launch in 2009?
http://www.dailytech.com/Bulldozing+...rticle8204.htm

In retrospect, who's delays are hurting their company most?

Bulldozer's delay, coming out to compete against Sandy Bridge?

Or a Die Shrink delay due out next year?

We already have video footage for Ivy Bridge:

You got any Bulldozer videos to share, which are due out in 2-3 weeks?

Like i said.

You Intel fanboys are the most psycho idiots on these AMD forums. You quoted something from me that was in direct response to someone making a B.S. claim that "a month or 2 later, ivy bridge will be released and put Intel about 3 years ahead" If you want to respond to my quote show me were that statement is accurate. If you want to fire up your fanboism flame, do that without my quote, or in the proper thread. My post was in regards to delays. Which i guess is still off topic looking at the thread title, but these threads will never stay on topic cuz of all the intel trolls.

Edit: That and threads like these are just rumors that get thrown on here to be exploited anyways.

I believe what Intel has clearly confirmed in front of hundreds of investors and other key people. Plus, this has been confirmed by all motherboard manufacturers, indirectly or directly.

Besides, Killswitch costs extra to Intel due to the added security features. Companies always avoid extra costs.

So what you want people to believe is that Intel claimed something totally false to thousands of investors, and millions of consumers? And that somehow all (independent) motherboard manufacturers confirmed this claim indirectly or directly because supposedly they're all in it?

What's next; you would have us believe that Intel is behind the governments of US, EU and China, since they're the master puppeteers and control the world from behind the curtains? And that in 20 years, Intel will take over the world governments and decide to recreate Orwell's 1984?

You need to seriously grow up. You give Intel far too much credit. Intel is not even the number one tech company, and there are many companies that outrank it.

I can understand why some people don't like Intel because of its business practices (mostly past, but some present). And if you don't want to buy Intel or express your dissatisfaction with them; it's fine as long as you don't make up false and far-fetched reasons. But please, for the sake of knowledge, do NOT spread misinformation.

2010rig ,why so much rage ?!

It doesn t matter how many generations AMD is behind , they are smart enough to be in the game as needed.
The AMD low-end stuff is out already isn t it ?!

AMD will never be able to get 50% of the desktop CPU market ,so whats the problem.
Even if they deliver the best CPU on the market they will not be able to stay up in the game due to the manufacturing factoryes they have ,that can t supply enough in a short time.
So get some Intel super rig and move on.

u guys need to grow up and understand that competition is good for prices
it doesnt matter if its AMD or INTEL, in the end u want best price/performance ratio

if AMD goes down u know how much ur gonna have to pay for ur lovely INTEL processors? monopoly = bad for consumers
its in our best interest to keep both companies around as long as possible
