Prices are already being dropped on the GTX 580 in the US. The EVGA GTX 580 is now going for $489.99 and Nvidia is offering a $30 MIR for total of $459.99. That's $60 less than it originally started at when it first came out.

Also yes two GTX 580's will still be more expensive. Truth in the matter is the GTX 590 is a great card but it's two GTX 580 watered down. Two GTX 580's will out perform it at stock easily. Also the GTX 580's in SLI will over clock much higher than one GTX 590 over clocked with VRM/BIOS issues and even without issues by far thus further widing that gap of performance.

Going two single GPU's vs one DUAL GPU has always yeilded greater results. The down side is you'll pay more for that. The upside is the prices are dropping and that down side is getting less.

So you are telling me its fair to pay SGD$1099 for an EVGA Liquid cooled 580 3gb when I can pay SGD$728 for Gainward 580 3gb Phantom?

No, I compared stock GTX 580 SLI to stock 590 dual GPU and prices in the US. We must be talking about two different things.
