Live with onboard Audio or get dedicated card?

Thread Starter
Hey.

I've been wondering if buying an Audio card is worth it. I've spent alot of money on my headsets (Beats By Dr.dre and Bose OE) and my speakers (z-5500). Will buying an audiocard let me take full advantage of my peripherals? If so, which one is recommended?

Well this thread is destined to blow up. OP, I agree with tUDJ. a dedicated sound card is worth the price of admission.

Well if you want the most out of a sound card, get good headphones first.

I really feel the ASUS DG is great buy and the headphone amp is something other companies do not offer on a budget card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132020

$35.00 dollars and a $10 rebate is hard to beat. The card can often be found cheaper if you do a few quick searches.

Well, you should probably get better headphones, but the

is a good investment since it only costs $30 and you'll definitely notice the difference. I wouldn't pay more, though: the difference between the DG and onboard is much bigger than the difference between the DG and more expensive soundcards.
