Hello,
What max. Voltage should I give my Intel Core i5-750 with a Cooler Master Hyper 212P? And how far can I approximately overclock it at your recommended max Voltage?

You're going to be temperature limited before reaching 'unsafe' voltages using that cooler. So just increase the voltage a little bit at a time and then test with the new overclock. Make sure temps are below around 70C for 24/7 usage.

I dont think I will push the CPU over 1.28V. The temps should be fine at that voltage. What max. clock speed can I roughly expect at that voltage?

I know that I am supposed to find out myself but I only want a rough estimate so that I know where to start.

It really depends on your chip since all are different. As a rough estimate I would say 4GHz would be a good starting point for 1.28v. If it's a better chip you may reach 4.2-4.5Ghz with that voltage.

I managed to get the CPU stable at 3.9GHz with 1.28V. But at 4GHz it is unstable. Does that mean that I have a bad chip? Or could it be the Mainboard's fault? I have an Asus P7P55D. I increased the PCH Voltage to 1.15V and the IMC voltage to 1.21V. I also increased the CPU PLL Voltage to 1.9V. Did I do anything wrong?

No you dont have a bad chip, that is actually pretty good. I would increase the IMC volage and maybe the vcore to 1.3v. CPU PLL and PCH are fine at those settings.

The chip is still unstable at 4Ghz with 1.3V IMC and VCore. My max temp at 3.9GHz with 1.28V Vcore and 1.21V IMC is 62 degrees Celcius by the way. I think I'll just go with 3.9GHz. I have the muliplier at 20x195. Should I have went with the 21x multiplier?

A higher multiplier usually helps out. 3.9GHz at 1.28v isn't bad, I just meant that 4GHz should be what you should aim for at that voltage.

I tried out a higher multiplier but it made no difference. 3.9GHz is enough for me. Can anyone answer my question in this thread:

http://www.overclock.net/intel-general/1021972-when-should-i-upgrade-my-intel.html

Thanks for your help.
