*Update* Connect guitar to sound card? - Page 2

I found this one

I can get it shipped here today with local delivery if I order in the next 5 hours. Anybody able to give me a definitive answer on what the benefit of this would be over what I'm doing now; plugging the guitar straight into my mic jack in my sound card and using Guitar Rig 4 to add effects.

I still don't like the fact that Guitar Rig disables every other audio driver so I can't listen to anything else until I close the program. Would this solve that problem?

+rep for helping !

If you look at reviews for that interface, the software seems to be a bit of a pain. However, it should solve your problem with Guitar Rig (unless it also has that caveat of losing other sound).

I would get a Pocket POD or a used POD XT, both of which are floating around $100. I have an old Toneport UX1 and I've never had any problems with it whatsoever (except that it's cheap and I'm too lazy to get a POD).

As for your question on interfaces in general, this article answers it fairly well.

If you want to plug your guitar into your computer to record music and stuff, I recommend an audio interface or whatever they call it. If you wanna spend like 100 - 200 you can probably get a few good things. Probably just look for M-Audio Fast Track on eBay or something if anything works for ya. If you want something better just look around on Sweetwater or something like that.

Well I received the Behringer UC102 today. Doesn't work. I'm getting pretty annoyed at this point.

I've tried a whole slew of combinations for settings in Windows, drivers etc.

I connected the guitar > usb link > computer.
Tried listening with headphones connected to sound card - doesn't work
Tried listening with headphones connected to usb link - work's but sounds like a normal unamped guitar.

I've tried both guitar rig and the supplied AC Combo Box program that came with the Behringer. Nothing works with the USB link. I've downloaded the ASIO drivers for the Behringer for 64 bit Win7.

The ONLY way I can get sound through is to connect the guitar straight to the sound card in the mic input. But that disables the rest of my computers audio as I've mentioned many times.

I'm so frustrated, I don't know what to do.

I found a video of some guy using the same thing I have, he simply has his connected like I tried, and his works fine.
