I had a similar issue with gskill ram. You may have bad ram period. It would play for about 3 or 4 mins then bsod. I suggest you grab some new ram and give it a go.

The ram is on like auto, running with the processor at 3.3ghz so it's under what it's rated for. No blue screens since switching to dual yet.

If it's still getting blue screens with the processor stock then the next thing I'm going to do is work on the ram, naturally

You have a hidden defective memory chip waiting to ruin your online gaming

Test the RAM properly before it brakes some files.
I even had BIOS recovery screens on my Gigabyte after some violent BSOD-s.
Test each stick separatelly with Memtest .One full pass of Memtest at first ,then 25 passes on 5 and 7 tests ,then another full run at the end.

bad sectors have nothing to do with over clocking

K, still no blue screens with the processor as a dual core. Should I run memtest now?

And if the ram is good should I try putting the processor back to quad but using user defined voltages and tweaking them myself?
